Brother's Pizza Hauz Kawit, Cavite

Together with my food buddies Mai and Sam, we visited a small pizza house just a few meters away from Savemore Kawit. Perhaps you have already seen this restaurant as it is just along the highway across 7-11 Kawit.

Their menu varies from pizza, rice meals, pica-pica and chips. They also serve juices, fruit sodas shakes and frappes. I must say they have a wide variety of food to choose from! If you are a group of 2-3 people I suggest you order their family treat which comes with drinks and soup.

They serve their frappes on a mason jar. And for a reasonable price, the frappe was great.

Here are other meals we ordered - Pizza and Nachos! Yum!

We ordered a family meal because we were H-U-N-G-R-Y.

Hey there fries addicts! The fried chicken comes with fries. ^.^

Customer can also play board games while waiting for their orders to arrive, you just need to present a valid I.D. to the staff before borrowing a certain game.

Overall we had a great dining experience at Brother's Pizza Hauz Kawit.  This restaurant is not for guests who are looking for a relaxing ambience but it is good for people who are looking for cheap eats without compromising the taste and the quality of the food. This is an advantage because their location is near local high schools. Even the quantity of the meal justifies the price. Only one not so good point about it is that it does not have a parking.

Stairway Cafe and Salon - Kawit

It was a fine Sunday morning and I heard from our Choir mate Kuya Eman Tuazon (also one of Kawit's very hardworking councilor) that the new Cafe just opened.

Since we always have our after church bonding, my daughter, cousin and I decided to try the new place. It is a Cafe and Salon located a few minutes walk from St. Mary Magdalene Church and it is just beside the road.

The interiors are almost all wood with inscriptions on the walls and the stairs. The stairs leads to a somewhat mezzanine floor.

Their menu features rice meals, pasta, sandwiches, pica-pica, juices, shakes, cakes and of course - coffee!

They also have board games that the guests can enjoy while waiting for their orders.

To start off, we tried their pillow bites which is actually kikiam, fish balls and squid balls.

We were also able to try their clubhouse, ham and cheese and hamburger. Amongst these, we loved the clubhouse. The serving is good for 2-3 person.

In my honest opinion, they should improve on their Carbonara as it is a bit sweet.

There's nothing fancy or extraordinary with the rice meals, but still for the price, they were delicious. Being a big fan of rice.

And as they say, what's a better way to present a coffee than a latte art? The designs are adorable.

And wait, there's more! They also serve Suman during weekends.

My daughter and her friend Sheneya enjoying their Sunday brunch.

Though I think they should improve on their service as it is a bit slow, but since they are new in the business I will give them the benefit of the doubt. not to mention the staff are really friendly.

My overall experience in dining with them was great! The price of the food were reasonable. I just wish they also have a space for parking for customers who will bring their own vehicles.

Christmas is more fun in Kawit

Maytinis Festival is an original tradition that takes place every Christmas Eve. This is a dramatic re-telling and reenactment of Mary and Joseph's search for a place to stay. We call it "Panunuluyan" which takes place in several houses and is done by singing until it reaches the St. Mary Magdalene Church where Mary and Joseph are welcomed by singing angels and a "Belen or Nativity Scene" which covers the altar.
This happens at the street of Kawit with floats depicting famous biblical scenes.

Amongst the float, Adam and Eve's Float from Potol Magdalo is the crowd's favourite. I think I don't need to explain why.

 Pagbati: Alay Brgy. Wakas

Haring David: Alay ng Poblacion

Infanta Judith: Alay ng Panamitan

 Zacariah: Alay ng Batong dalig

Reyna Esther: Alay ng Gahak

Ama and Ina are like the hermanas of the whole Christmas Festival in Kawit. There are a lot of activities like Parol Making Contest, Singing Contest, Parade of the Bands and Others.
